My photographic manifesto

I do not photograph what I see; I photograph what I imagine.

I want viewers to be thinking and feeling beyond seeing, because what is essential is invisible to the eye. We look with the eyes, but we see with the brain.

My goal is to make the invisible visible.

Photography is easy; - unless we do it right!

I follow those, who are seeking the truth - and avoid those who declare they have found it!

I believe that "the best camera does not take the best pictures".

I believe that it is a big and common mistake to go shopping instead of learning.

I believe that if I keep confusing shopping with learning, I will end up with more gear than talent.

I believe that talent is "the talent of letting your talent out".

Выпорхнуть подальше

хочется?

Отчего вне края отчего

Голосить от боли хочется?

Отчего душа так мечется

Меж чужбиной и отечеством?

Отчего сны зарубежные

К Приднепровью льнут

по прежнему,

Хоть за кручами высокими

Жизнь бывала и жестокою?

Но и доля эмигрантская —

Это не бокал шампанского.

Но и время заграничное —

Часто бремя горемычное.

Разузнать бы у Всевышнего:

Где же — там иль здесь —

мы лишние?

I have studied and taught for a long time Mathematics, Computers, and Chess. After retirement, I am into Linguistics and Photography. Currently, I am following the amazing developments taking place in Computational Photography.
