La macchina fotografica è per me un blocco di schizzi, lo strumento dell'intuito e della spontaneità. Fotografare è trattenere il respiro quando le nostre facoltà convergono per captare la realtà fugace; a questo punto l'immagine catturata diventa una grande gioia fisica e intellettuale. Fotografare è riconoscere nello stesso istante e in una frazione di secondo un evento e il rigoroso assetto delle forme percepite con lo sguardo che esprimono e significano tale evento. È porre sulla stessa linea di mira la mente, gli occhi e il cuore. È un modo di vivere.
