Was born in the village of İbrahimler (Avramovo), district of Kırcali, Bulgaria. Escaped into Greece on 1 February 1960. Came to United States in December, 1960. Received a B.A. from Central Connecticut State College, M.A. and Ph.D. from Indiana University. Taught a variety of Anthropology and Sociology courses as Assistant, Associate and full Professor for many years at Wayne State College, Nebraska. Retired as Emeritus Professor of Anthropology in 2003. Still live in Wayne, Nebraska, U.S.A.
