Digital and retirement have reignited love of taking and making pictures. I've never felt need to share - but ease of computer access seems to make it so easy.... why not try? (Although the quality of some photographs on flickr is superb, and now, more than 3 years in, I'm still daunted by the stunning quality of so many images, day by day.)
I've always believed in encouraging people in their efforts by praising them. That surely happens on flickre - and it still feels good - giving and receiving, and above all learning from the example of the many excellent photographers.

Then there is my moment of FAME in photography:
flickstr.basementserver.com/famr/all_time/
(It was No. 4 at its highest.)

Or Lately flickstr.basementserver.com/famr/comments/

AND flickstr.basementserver.com/famr/faves/

(At this moment No.2.)

My first reaction was sheer disbelief. Without photos of attractive young women? What on earth is happening?
Then I realised it must be the drunken donkey at it again. Recently it has cut my photos in interestingNess from 400 to 20, and now it is trying to comfort me .... or something.
It's all clearly a load of old ..... nonsense.

Eye de-light.

What is my photo style?
It's a question I never dreamed of asking: I see what I like and press the button.
So when someone called me a peddler of "Eye Candy", obviously meant in a derogatory way, I thought-Yes - that's a label I'll wear with pride.
But hold on - Candy? Did I want to be associated with something that should be taken in small quantities, and is probably bad for you?
So I cast around for an alternative. Eye Pleasuring? Eye Nourishment? Eye ....? And then Eye Delight occurred and it has grown on me.
First, "Delightful" is a term I often use as high approbation. To delight the eye seems a thoroughly good reason to take photographs.
Then it includes "light", which is crucial to my motivation in taking pics. "De" in local dialect is often used as "of", (rather like in French?).
And deeper still when spoken it can be taken for "I delight" - which is what I experience when taking photos, and is certainly my purpose as in - "I hope I delight some who view my photos".
So there we are. I've found my photo style: Eye de-light. I hope you agree that my pics go towards that.
