Alexandra Posadzki is a budding young journalist living in downtown Toronto. She recently began a position as the Ontario Bureau Chief for the Canadian University Press. Alex served as the editor-in-chief of Excalibur Publications (York University’s community newspaper) from 2009-2010, and is a recent graduate of the Toronto Star’s year-long radio room program. While at the Star, she broke the news about everything from fatal shootings to bear attacks to labour strife at the Toronto Zoo.
Alex does regular freelance work for the Toronto Star on a number of topics, including mental health, how Blackberrys can be used to aid diabetes treatment and the return of the hula hoop. She has also written for the York West Advocate. In the past, Alex served as Excalibur’s arts editor, volunteer recruitment manager and queer & trans issue coordinator.
In September, she will complete her Honours Bachelor of Arts degree at York University with a major in psychology and a minor in English literature. She recently received an A+ grade on her research thesis about women in upper management positions.
