I'm a student at Glasgow University in my Hons. years studying History of Art. I am also a keen photographer:

"Alex Boyd is a German born, Scottish educated photographer based in Irvine on the West Coast of Scotland. His photographic interests are wide ranging, however landscape work and music photography can be considered his main concerns.

To date, his music photography has been used for promotional purposes by artists such as Billy Corgan, who has sold in excess of 28 million records, and the Dresden dolls, who he recently worked with on their Scottish tour-dates. He has also received critical acclaim for his photography from Paul Brannigan, editor of the Uk's best selling rock music publication, Kerrang Magazine. Alex has also covered many unsigned bands from the area, of whom he has taken a keen interest in promoting.

His Urban photography was also recently shortlisted for a BBC Award in the 2005 'Digital Picture of Britain' competition, which also saw his work being shown on BBC4. This interest in Urban photography is also expressed in his current project to document life in the West coast of Scotland, some of which has been showcased by the BBC in their 'week in pictures' feature.

Aside from his own work, his previous collaborations have seen him work with Guillermo Kahlo, an established Mexican photographer, and nephew of the celebrated artist Frida Kahlo.

His first solo exhibition "Tide Reflects Sky" goes on Tour throughout Ayrshire in January to March of 2006"
