I'm a fashion gal by day and a factory by night. From 9 (ok, 10) to 6, M-F I work as a tech designer in the fashion industry in NYC, which means I do fittings and explain to real factories in China how to correct the pattern.
When I come home at night, I start my second shift. Designing, patternmaking, cutting, sewing, shipping, sales, merchandising and marketing my eponymous line of felt applique pillows. Saturdays are for photographing, and Sundays are for lovely lunches with my support team where we talk a little bit about pillows and a lot about everything else.
WHY MY PILLOWS ARE SO COOL:
The felt used in my pillows are made from 100% post consumer recycled plastic water bottles. Every pound of felt is equivalent to 10 water bottles that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill. By my math, that makes each pillow about 4 water bottles of earth saving goodness. Take that, Poland Springs!
