I believe photography is a pure form of communicating in that it speaks a universal language - a picture is worth a thousand words (or a paragraph at the very least).

I have seen how imagery can alter human perspective. Ansel Adams shifted perceptions through the poetic power of his photographs and the Apollo space missions had profound effects with a single image of the earth rising from behind the moon.

We gain some insight into the characteristics and importance of many places or events - whether a portion of the planet or a picture of the earth itself - through strong images.

It is in this defining place, through its imagery, that I find inspiration.
