Je peins principalement des portraits. Ces portraits pris de face, captant le regard du sujet dans l’objectif du pinceau, conjuguent l’esprit du photomaton, image identitaire qui arrête l’instant, et celui du portrait, image pérenne qui le fixe pour le faire durer. Une façon d’avérer l’existence des acteurs de la vie d’en bas participant ou ayant participé volontairement à des événements générés par l’histoire, à l’élaboration d’un lieu, ou tout simplement vécu dans leur époque.

I mostly paint portraits. I've started putting words to the way that I approach my painting from reading books on photography, especially texts on the identity photo. My work is all about the journey around the human head, also it's past, and its surroundings.

Pinto fundamentalmente retratos. Estos retratos, pintados de frente, que capturan la mirada del sujeto en el lente del pincel, combinan el estilo de la cabina - foto de identidad que congela el instante - con el del retrato, imagen eterna que lo fija para que dure. Una forma de corroborar la existencia de actores de la vida de aquí abajo, que participan o que han tomado parte voluntariamente en eventos históricos, que han construido un sitio, o que han sencillamente vivido en su época.
