  "Molte cose si potrebbero dire a proposito di queste immagini antiche di Napoli, soprattutto per chi, come me, ricorda quelle atmosfere. Per farlo però bisognerebbe avere la verve letteraria di un La Capria. Mi limito a menzionare due fra tanti aspetti più schiettamente fotografici che giustificano uno studio attento di queste magnifiche immagini. Innanzitutto l'uso magistrale del formato quadrato che oggi, soprattutto dopo l'avvento delle macchine digitali, è praticamente scomparso, sopravvivendo solo come rifilatura, spesso maldestra, di altri formati. Agedsenator ci mostra quanto ricco e suggestivo possa essere uno sguardo in cui la centralità sia parte originaria del progetto di cattura dell'immagine. E poi, la dimostrazione chiara di come, nella maggior parte dei casi, il colore non aggiunga niente all'immagine, anzi distrae da ciò che in essa è realmente essenziale. Quindi, caro Agedsanator, che il suo scanner non conosca riposo."
