I guess it is about time I update this here profile thinga-majig.

I bought a Canon Powershot S5 IS in the summer of 2007 with the intent of getting into photography, but this didn't really happen until the Thanksgiving of 2007. You could call that my Photography birfday. Since then I have been taking photos with at least some degree of intent. Although, If you were to look through my earlier work, you would quickly realize I just pressed the shutter when I saw something cool. As I learned, mostly through reading books and visiting Texas Photo Forum (the link is below), and with the guidance from some of the people I know further along in their Photographic journeys, I started to choose a subject for each photo, and use the camera as best as I could to bring that subject to the front. This really took off when I got my new camera Canon Rebel XSi (450D). I currently own the Canon 18-55mm kit lens, 50mm 1.8, and the 28-135mm lens (all Canon). As for my goals? Well, it currently has to take a back seat to my education, but that doesn't stop it from backseat driving. I really enjoy taking photos of the Texas Tech Campus. In fact, I have several photos being used on the Texas Tech Wikipedia site. Otherwise, I really just use photography to keep boredom at bay. I wouldn't mind eventually selling some of my photos if people really enjoy them. I am also trying to put a toe into portrait photography. So far I have only photographed people I know directly (as in real life friends). Those photos I have made private however to all but my friends and family. If however, I do get to know you to a certain extent, and feel that I will not be taken advantage of, I might make you a friend.

Enough of the serious stuff though. I hope you enjoy my photos as much as I enjoy the photos of other flickr members. There are some amazing photographers, and one day I hope to be one of them. As for right now, I will get back to learning.
