Just having fun with the photo thing. I tried to make it as serious as some do, but it's just not who I am. I've developed a love for taking pictures and am kind of learning it in reverse, trying, failing, learning, trying again and then seeing what sticks. I'd like to take some classes. Maybe I will over the summer. I'll answer technical questions when I can. Sometimes I get lucky. Definitely not too proud or arrogant to admit that.

I read a lot about photography these days. Does that count?

I'm digging the many styles here on Flickr. Doesn't really matter what you shoot with in my opinion. Some of my best and favorite works came from a camera that cost as much as my least expensive lens for my new gear.

I doubt that I'd have pushed so hard to learn about photography if Flickr didn't happen. It's been a good push. I'll miss it when the ride comes to an end.

Someday I want a frigate. I'd like to be a modern day pirate, but without the negative stereotypes that come along with having one eye, a parrot and wooden leg.

Arrgh.

I'd also like to have Seven teach Koharu to swim. I think they'd get along.

Please contact me BEFORE using any of my images.

I shouldn't even NEED to state this, but people seem to be losing their tact these days.. leave a hurtful or questionable comment about the people I've photographed, it'll get deleted. Repeat the mean things will get you blocked. Period. Common courtesy shouldn't be a lost art. Think about what you're writing before you post it.

Excelsior!

Sean Shimmel... wink back at the Reaper says:

"Adrian's imagery reminds me of my visits to Starbucks, Nike, Apple, Nikon, Morton's Steakhouse and a hundred other trusted names. Why? The quality factor.

I trust his eye and am consistently pleased with his predictable quality (but never predictable images). In an age of over the top visual exaggeration and garish effects, Adrian delivers timeless, fundamental photography.

    Keep up the vision. :)"

"what can i say about velvet g? he is a true inspiration, whether you are viewing his work for the first time or as a die hard fan. the man puts a bit of his heart and soul into every frame.

i have had the pleasure to become a real life friend on top of the flicker contact thing, and have had the opportunity to work with him on several occasions. not only is he a tremendous photographer, but also a wonderful friend. his trademarks are honesty and humor and these trarits are evident in this stream. adrian also has been a great teacher and will take the time impart his "wisdom" whenever needed.

adrian, your stream is a delight, your portraits real and breathtaking, your sev shots dynamic, your eatery photos enticing. keep striving!"

"Not only do Adrians images show us what he sees, they show us a bit of himself. Looking at the world through his lens offers a perspective that makes me want to be there and see those things with him. Not only does he offer us images, he offers advice, tips, and firendship to those that just ask.

He has made this experience for me all the better.

With great thanks, I tip my hat to you sir."

To have someone putting his faith on me, both humanly and artistically, even if he doesn't know me personally, has pushed me to always try to be a better person - and a better photographer too, because he’s an amazing one!

I'm grateful to have your friendship and to be able to enjoy your talent.

    Obrigada! :)"

"Velvet G is a special guy.

I don't even know him personally, but I can tell through his photos.

For one thing, he sees the world not as it is but as it could be -if it were even more beautiful than it already is. That makes him special as a person. That he can translate his mind's eye into images he shares with us makes him a special photographer.

But really... one need not go that far. Just look at his portraits and try to tell me he's not a great guy. You can tell by the way his subjects react and relate to him.

Adrian, I've enjoyed our our many conversations on flickr and look forward to many more as much as I look forward to you next involving portrait session or stunning IR landscape."

I continue to look to this cat for inspiration. He's definitely got the eye, and even through my interactions with him online, I know he'd be nothing but a pleasure to work with!

"Adrian is an intelligent and iconographical-like person and there is always a spectacle of awakening upon viewing his photostream. I have always found that there are plenty of emotions that are tied into his beautiful works, whether he is making one contemplate, happily symbolizing such aesthetic patterns of joy, extinguishing his touching captures amongst us with grace and sincerity and giving us a moment to sit and elaborate and reflect each satisfactorily photo into a righteous awareness. At least, this is how I percieve his works, always a joy to skim through the layers of his talented eye which seems to make one wonder about the initiations into the mystic rites of life. To make it even more pleasurable, he is very kind and friendly, which always makes a difference. I am always anticipating seeing what he will come up with next! Take your time to stir around this place as if you were in the comfort of your own home, because this is what it is like being here, and we all know that "there's no place like home...there's no place like home..."

Always a pleasure to be here! Continue to shine!"

"A man composed of equal parts inspiring human being and photography virtuoso. Reviewing Adrian's portfolio chronologically is something akin to watching some unnamed exotic orchid blooming at a dizzy speed. Adrian's range as a photographer continues to expand in a multitude of directions, while his photographs retain a touching emotive feel that a viewer will easily connect with.

To keep one's interaction with Adrian at on a purely photographical plane would be a tragedy, however. Adrian is a wonderful person to speak with, quite approachable, and is just plain old fashioned cool."

"I am long way off from where I can write a testimonial for Adrian and this is more a fan mail.

He knows the techniques backwards, forwards and perhaps diagonally. But what I find remarkable is the ease with which he communicates at an instinct level and the way he transcends all the rules and methods. Truly amazing.

A master at work here and some shots here definitely qualify as masterpieces. And imagine; with all these he is disarmingly modest, friendly and unassuming. Admirable indeed. It is nice, Adrian, being able to observe your work."

"Just like his photos, Adrian is ridiculously original and never lackluster. I was shocked to find that his faith in others, his view of life, his love of eating good food, actually outshines his blatant talent for taking spectacular photographs. He shows us the world in a much kinder light. It's typically a place of love and serenity. There's this overall atmosphere of peace when you view his stream.

I held him in this higher regard for the longest time. Then one day, I became his friend. It sounds corny, but my life hasn't been the same since."

He's a terrific photographer able to photograph a wide range of subjects with ease and give then his own distinctive look. Would you believe the man has no idea how good he is!??! And it makes me laugh when he tells ME I have influenced people in Flickr, when I'm sure he has had a much stronger affect.

I look forward to our future coffee date - hanging out with him and Seven shootin' the shit about life."

If he were to find out that he's an artist with light and shadow, a master of the macro, and that he's taken some of the most memorable portraits on Flickr, I'm afraid it might just cool some of the motivation that fires his creativity, and we might see fewer brilliant shots.
