Hi I'm Adam,
As a child I loved drawing and enjoyed painting and drawing both in and outside of school. What got me interested in photography was a trip to Paris that I took on my own in my late teens. I took a very basic point and shoot, fixed focus camera. The city was (and still is) so interesting in both detail and on a grand scale. I was very pleased with how the photos came out and what photography could do. I bought my first SLR shortly afterwards.

At first photography seemed a good way to short-cut the process of drawing. As I learned more about it I began to see it as something separate from drawing and painting. When I draw I feel that I can add my own beauty to a subject my how I choose to show it. In photography the beauty must found in life. These days I still doodle, but photography has become the medium of choice.

I used to feel that more technical knowledge of photography was needed to improve my photos. These days I feel it is more about expressing what I am feeling/thinking. The greater the sprit, the greater the art. To which end I try to seek out new experiences and ideas to enrich my life. I love many forms of art: music, books, plays, painting, etc.

Making photographs should be a positive process for me, those around me, and the world at large.
