ACTION CHURCH began with an idea, an unlikely dream, a “church for people who don’t like church”.
A place where everyone would be accepted.
A place that cared more about doing good in the community, than looking good to the community.
A place that would value transformation over information.
A place that would always strive to put the teachings of Jesus into action.

Reasons you shouldn’t
attend actionchurch.

You’re perfect
Sorry. No perfect people allowed. Everyone else is welcome. Expect to see people you wouldn’t expect to see in a nightclub… and people you wouldn’t expect to see in church.

You have a fear of folding chairs
We are not sure why you would have a phobia of folding chairs (FCP)… Maybe you were a pro wrestler and got hit with one… but we’ve got ’em.

You don’t like to laugh
We love to laugh at actionchurch… At ourselves, goofy movie clips, and sometimes for no real reason at all. We’re serious about fun at actionchurch.

You like sermons to be long… with lots of “points” to write down
At actionchurch you’ll hear a short sermon, usually with one central “idea” and an “action step” to take during the week.

You have a fear of guitars… or drums… or the tattooed guys (and gals) who play them
Expect to see a great band on stage each week at actionchurch playing songs you’d expect to hear on the radio. (“real radio”, not the religious kind)

You don’t want your kids to grow up enjoying church
If you like to “punish” your children or teenagers by making them attend church, you are going to be really disappointed with actionchurch. They’re going to enjoy it… and want to come back. They’re going to think that church is relevant and fun. We can’t have that can we…

Your primary reason for coming to church is to “study the Bible”
We talk about the Bible each week at actionchurch. (You just might learn something!) But our primary goal is something much older, something that began hundreds of years before the Bible as we know it was printed. We don’t just learn, we urge people to put the teachings of Jesus Christ into action!

You like to think of attending church as your “sacrifice for God”
Sorry, we believe that the way to “serve” God is by serving others. Church is a place to enjoy, to be inspired, and to invite your friends. If you think attending church is a “sacrifice” you’ll probably feel guilty if you have a great time at actionchurch.

You don’t like “tough” questions
Anything that is worth something should be intensely questioned. We are passionate about the Jesus and his teachings. Hopefully any questions that you have are answered by MORE questions. Text your questions in during the service and we will answer them live, then and there, or on the blog later in the week.
