I use film. Always. Unless I am without a camera, at which time I use my cell phone, which is nothing fancy and used in desperation only. I feel passionately about film, and am very attached to my camera. What you see is what I've happened to capture, warts (sometimes) and all.

After almost a decade of working as a manager or projectionist (or both at the same time) at "art theatres", I had become what may be described as obsessed or fanatic about cinemas. I feel that if I can capture a brief moment in the life of a theatre on film, in a way I have become part of the history of it, and in my small way have contributed to its preservation. My partner in crime and I seek out and photograph theatres as often as we have the chance to, and I'm pleased to be able to share some of those images and stories via this page.

Please use "all sizes" to view these photos, many times there's so much there to see that the default size just doesn't do the trick.

Please visit me over at www.flickr.com/photos/achangeinscenery as well.

I also have a shop on Etsy where many of my theatre photographs are for sale: www.purplenegatives.etsy.com

ATTENTION ANYONE WHO WANTS TO USE MY PHOTOGRAPHS FOR ANY REASON:
