"There is no point in my just playing the banjo, because there are already fantastic banjo players out there.
I play the banjo because I have to – in order to play the music I’ve written – the music I’ve created."
- Steve Martin, on playing the banjo.
(From a Charlie Rose show)
My Music
My desire, when I do shoot, is to "see" and capture the music I encounter; hopefully from my own unique personal perspective; to take it and make my music out of it. And also, to express the music that is within me - in a fusion of photo and artistic expression.
Web Design is what I do for fun and profit. Simple, affordable, standards compliant Xhtml 1.0 strict / CSS 2 - or - HTML4.01 strict w/CSS 2. I create static (with liquid design) web pages – no bells and whistles (no: flash, e-commerce, video, forms, blogs or CMS); specializing in Brochure Websites:

April of 2009, after plenty of research and saving my pennies, I bought my first Dslr, an Olympus E-330:
Model is about 3 years old, but new-in-the-box to me from Best Buy.
Olympus E-330 with 50mm f2.0 (Zuiko Digital / Olympus)
Olympus E-510 with 14-42 & 40-150 kits lenses

I paired my new body with this excellent portrait lens.

My shooting style:
I shoot raw in manual mode, use the best glass I can afford, flash (FL36, TTL, with flip bracket and bounce), I like to use a tripod.
Pre-April 2009 photos were taken with my wonderful for its time - Olympus C5060 wide zoom ( myolympus.org/5060/ ). It's not an SLR, but I'm quite happy with it. I sometimes attach a 2X-teleconverter. I will often use a tripod. I nearly always shoot manually and in RAW. I use Oly's Camedia for the raw and then GIMP to edit. I'm still pretty new to digital; lots to learn. I'm open to suggestions and questions.
I've been taking photos for fun, off and on, since I was a kid; 60yrs old now.
