I bought my first DSLR (Canon XTI 400D) in Nov 07. I used the 18-55mm and 75 - 300mm lenses that came with the camera and I built a manual barndoor mount. I spent some time with these while I learned how to take and process pictures. In May 08 I purchased an Equinox ED80 and a HEQ 5 Pro mount. In early 09 I purchased a KWIQ autoguider and used it for my M106 photo. I have not been able to take any pictures since Mar 09 as I was away from my equipment. Prior to July 09 all my photos were taken in severe light pollution. I am now back with my equipment and should start taking pictures again from my new residence in fairly dark skies. Can't wait to see the results. Currently I am processing my photos with Deepskystacker and Pixinsight which are freeware. I am also using Photoshop CS4 with Noel Carboni tools. I just purchased an AT8RC and am enjoying it very much. It's another great bang for your buck piece of equipment.

Since my last post I have purchased a modded Canon T1i. I would recommend a modded camera if you have the ability to do so as it allows you to capture way more Ha. I also purchased a DMK21au618 for planetary photography. You can see my first attempts. It is nice to have the ability to shot DSO's and planetary.

Clear skies.
