So where do I start?

Let’s see, I suppose it’s only fair that I begin with an introduction before getting to know all of you. It’s not much of an intro because really, I’m like everyone else — maybe a little keyed up, maybe a little toned down; catch me on a particular day when you’re looking for a particular slice of personality. Easily blending into the shadows, I find respite in unlikely places yet unable to always keep contained, somehow I manage to discover myself in the middle of a crowd. When no one is looking, I like to dive between the black and white straight into the middle admiring the gray linking the two together—there is so much that is overlooked, so much beauty unseen.

Which brings me here…

I thought – what if I took some of what I saw, thoughts that are constantly swirling around seeking a home to rest and put it to writing? What if I took a picture to relive a moment and shared my sentiments with curious eyes and open hearts? What if I were able to extend some of what’s inside so that you may forget for a moment and drift away?

What if I finally released all inhibitions and shared pieces of me?

Well quite honestly, you’d see broken fragments shattered by hurt, patched with love and eased with care. You’d see soft mellow and intense passion; you’d scent sassy mint and find yourself charmed by soothing jasmine. You’d see bruised anguish and tears borne from anger. You’d bask in the bright sunshine and hear the splash of my beloved rain. You’d see strong wings unfurl, the very same ones that carry me along on my journey.

So when the burden becomes too much to bear, rest your wings beautiful souls, pick a spot on the checkered blanket and cross your legs “indian-style” as we did when we were children. Recollect your stories, I’d love to see your words come alive as you relive private memoirs that have been tucked away in hat boxes for much too long. Feel free to indulge in mine and together we will ensue on a voyage of our own. Take my hand, close your eyes and remember to just breathe…
