Thank you all so much for looking at my photos and for your lovely comments! I just love taking pictures and I curse myself when I don't have my camera with me. Looking at everyone's beautiful photographs on Flickr really keeps me motivated to try to take interesting shots.

I'm a graduate student in Human Geography at the University of Delaware. I also work for a museum as a Development Assistant where, among other things, I have been able to act as the official photographer for a number of museum events. This has really given me the chance to expand my abilities beyond studio and landscape photography.

I enjoy meeting people from other countries and cultures. Alas, as Mark Twain once said: “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” I look forward to traveling to Great Britain, Germany, Norway, and Chile to visit friends and experience the culture and landscape.

Some random facts about me:

I love absurdity.
I am absolutely obsessed with satellite images (it should come as no surprise that I have been known to spend hours and hours on Google Earth).
I collect all types of rocks, minerals, and fossils.
I love dinosaurs—particularly the Apatosaurus.
I really love to vacuum, mow, clean, and organize.
I wish I didn't have to sleep (more time to take pictures!).
I like to paint abstract art.
I really want to travel to the Grand Canyon and take pictures during sunrise.
I wanted to be Indiana Jones when I was little (I think I still do).
I love British television and music.
I used to work for a bookstore; they might as well have paid me in books.
I constantly confuse my left and right (but strangely not east and west).
I like saying words over and over until they sound absurdly weird.
On that note, sometimes I look at my own name and wonder if it's spelled correctly.
Words are fun!

Here is the Flickr website that I created for my classes when I taught a Geology laboratory at the University of Delaware. It was pretty helpful to the students for studying the rock and fossil samples outside of the classroom. I later used it for photos that I took of Newark for a project that my advisor had created for one of her undergraduate courses.
