  "As I was waking up this morning I did what I do every morning. I put water in the kettle for coffee, put on some music and woke up my computer. I always glance at whether there are any urgent emails first and then I go through any photos people posted on flickr through the night. I use flickr as a feedback loop from other photographers but also to keep up with other photographers whose work I respect. I get emails streaming in all day into their own folder "New photos from friends". The emails contain who uploaded along with thumbnails. I generally pass through most emails, the thumbnail being all i need to see, but sometimes something catches my attention and i click on it to see the full version. There are a particular few photographers that I always end up looking at their work. One of those is Allure+Desire. For as long as I can remember he's been taking photos of "The one who stole my solitude" - and only the girl who stole his solitude. Some innocent, some fairly erotic, pretty much all of them great photos. I always click on his photos when they come in. Well this morning I looked in my inbox and the photo showed her quite pregnant. What? How did that happen? I looked back through and on second glance some of the recent photos you could see a hint of it, but most you couldn't tell and I was so overwhelmed I began to cry. They are married and expecting and he is so in love with her and finds her so beautiful and sexy that he wants to take photos of her every day and share them. I just thought she was his girlfriend. The effect it had on me when I realized that I just followed this couple's life for so long, not really thinking about it that seriously and now there are 3 - there's a baby coming and I'm going to watch that too and I've never met them and it's all a little overwhelming for me.
  
  So thank you, you gave me something I can't really explain very well."

  Today I came over your photostream. Now I know who I think is the best photographer in flickr. At least for my taste and for what I find artistic, color, art, sexy, interesting...
  
  I can't find words to comment all of your pictures.
  I should use the same sentence a thousand times to write how much I've liked them (and haven't seen them all!).

  If this couple were only interested in simply titillation, they would fail miserably, because there is a spark, a vibrancy in each image that electrifies and challenges one's mind - you cannot look at their images and not *feel* something WAY beyond sensuality. The connection, the love these two share is palpable, tangible on the screen... it is as if they are able to personify their very relationship on film. This combination is not just rare on Flickr, it is rare in *life*.
  
  I often remark how lucky he is to have such a stunning, savvy model (who just happens to be his wife), but his talent in designing the shots, behind the camera, in post-processing are significant and awe-inspiring... she is quite lucky herself to have someone so in love with her that it projects through the digital bits and bytes, augmented by his considerable craft.
  
  For those of us like myself, who might not enjoy such a crackling relationship, we can live vicariously through what they come up with next... and what that is... NEVER fails to *astonish* and amaze! Here's hoping they never stop... sharing each other with us... and bringing a little joy into many lives."

  Every subject has its own codes, its rules, its difficulties and its clichés. The nude doesn't depart from this truth. Maybe even it is more arduous to manage than other styles of photography. Why?
  
  Because more than the others, the photographer has to know how to input emotion to his pictures and, at the same time, he needs to be very attentive not to fall into voyeurism or vulgarity. For the nude art, the ridge is narrower than for other styles like portraits or landscapes... From this point of view Ben's pictures are remarkable in their depth of meaning. His work always finds the exact distance necessary to marry beauty and emotion, and emphasises all the sensuality of his model. Hollows, curves, lines, shadow and light, there is always something to learn as you contemplate his images.
  
  Like those of great photographers, they invite to their contemplation and if ever you are fond of photography, they have incited you *to try* to do the same. Allure+Desire, what a funny name but which rings so right!

I find it impossible to look at his work without being drawn into the lines he captures: it can be the curve of his wife's spine, the circles of water tension that close around a pair of legs in a milk bathtub, the ripples in a head wrap, or even the cross hatch of tiles in the background. Those things get lost in the photos of so many, but in Ben's work they are pronounced. They are used and manipulated with what seems to be joy and courage. Of course, my fascination with Ben's use of shapes ignores the other, more obvious compliment that I now must pay -- Allure + Desire are the perfect team, and the images they make together are remarkable."
