Born and raised in New York, I've been taking pictures for a long time. There's so many things in our day to day lives which may seem mundane but there's actually beauty and art all around us wherever we may live and work. There's enough corruption and hatred in the world already that photography has become a way for me to focus on the beauty that still remains in the world. Don't get down on the world, get a camera instead!

I started studying photography 6 years ago.
Photography hasn't been easy but the rewards are truly great when you get it right. I have fun, that's the bottom line! There's something that's still so appealing about capturing special moments in photographs.

The results have been pleasing so far and I hope to continue to advance my photography skills while continuing to enjoy the other fantastic photographers here on Flickr.

I shoot Nikon digital and film SLR's and I also use a Leica R5 film SLR.

    Tommy shoots with film as opposed to digital. Film has a difficulty factor of 10 over digital. You must have a conceptual knowledge of the relationship of ISO, aperture, shutter speed, film emulsions...and on and on.
