Ed Newman's photostream  

I lived in New Orleans for fifteen years, photographing all the while. Now resident in my home town of New York City. I studied photography at the International Center of Photography, and did extensive darkroom work, on my own, and with my mentor, the late Michael P. Smith.

My photos have appeared in Negative Capability, Gambit Weekly, Offbeat, The Oxford American, The Tulanian, Jazz Improv, Vibes and other publications, as well as online guidebooks and in the opening titles of the HBO show "Treme." My work was exhibited while in New Orleans, and will be featured there in the new Jazz National Historic Park.

I favor available light photography with fast glass on my Nikon.
