I am a husband of 42 years, a pastor, a retired military guy, someone who loves Jesus, the out-of-doors, flowers, gardens, hiking, old cars and things and taking pictures. Right now I am using a Canon PowerShot S5 Digital and a Kodak EasyShare DX7630.
Most of the flower and garden pictures were taken in "Maria's Garden" in New Jersey. Maria is my wife and has the green thumb in the family. I take the pictures and help with things. My goal is to photograph all the flowers we have in our garden and learn their names. At last count, we have over 160 different species of flowers, plants, shrubs and trees.
The are many other pictures in my collection of my early military days in Korea, Okinawa, and Germany. As Maria was born in Korea, we both have a special affinity for that country. I can both eat and speak in Korean.
I have two grown children and six grandchildren. Each of them are a blessing.
The screen name? It comes from my grandfather who was named Herman Victor Isadore Severensen. He changed his last name to Stenberg ("Stone Mountain") when he immigrated from Sweden. No one could pronounce Stenberg when I was in the Army, therefore I was nicknamed "Berg." There you have it.

I have walked around the same paths with him in south Korea during military service. But unfortunately we couldn't meet to each other over there in real world. Long years later, It happened a accidential meeting because of flickr. We have seen the pictures of each others in flickr about Korea and we interested. This magic box called computer is able to happen every thing. He is married with a elegant and beautiful lady from Korea. If we come the position of John who I met him in flickr community, I can say beautiful things about his photographic talent. He is the unique photographer of flowers and other stuffs according to me..
He is first class observer and has a great eye to take shots of lovely things. Especially flowers close ups. Also he is master of taking landscapes photos.
