She always puts a detailed description and updates so that you can follow the progress of the Marshside Menagerie. "Mary Anne is a wonderful photographer. All her photos are amazing, but I have to admit that I look forward to viewing shots of Dora and other friends - no matter what kind of day I've had or what mood I'm in these photos make me smile :o)
Thankyou Mary Anne for including me as one of your contacts and I look forward to viewing many more of your beautiful photos :o)"13th March, 2006

"It's awful hard to write a testimonial after the_nanish_one has been here, but I'll try.
Mary Anne's work with the residents of her marshside menagerie is wonderful, and her pictures even moreso.
Some of the shots she gets make me wonder if she's two people, or has a set of extra arms, but all of them are glorious examples of how we're meant to live in this world, in harmony with our fellow creatures, taking care of the least of us and honoring the divine in all of us."5th March, 2005

"It's a MUST for me to visit Mary Anne's photostream each day. She is such a talented photographer who captures precious moments of life. And she works on different styles, which all presents the most important part of ours lives: nature. I adore her talent to capture outstanding and funny moments with all the animals and I'm really sure that her models know about her love for them. Otherwise they would not cooperate in this special way. Mary Anne, I'm so glad that you brighten my days with your work and thank you deep from my heart for sharing all these precious moments."

"Times are hard for animals and the people that love them. Habitat is getting lost, as humans take up more and more space.
Maryanne by describing in word and picture Dora, Patty and Eddie, we are forced to look at our animal neighbors in a completely different way... they can't be generic anymore. They are individuals with temperaments, life histories even thought and feelings.... they are more like us or....we are more like them.
Thanks from our animal neighbors; they need all the help they can get and you are doing it very beautifully."28th November, 2004

"You know, one of my favorite TV programs in my youth was Mutual of Omaha's "Wild Kingdom." There was something about being a kid in the suburbs, and having this entirely fantastic world opened up to me through the dramatic and comedic interplay between man and beast.
I am affected with the same sense of awe and wonder when I sit here now, 30 years later practically, perched before an electronic box of a different kind, gazing at Mary Anne's work.
She portrays the natural and the human worlds as separate but equal kingdoms, and bridges the two through her fierce dedication and devotion to her lovable crew of 'coons.
I sit back, and I watch...and I'm a kid all over again.
Thanks Mary Anne."19th November, 2004

"An especially fine photographer with perhaps the biggest heart of anyone on Flickr (or Fotolog), Mary Anne has a whole family of built in models. Orphaned raccoons, three now, saved from heaven knows what, have charmed the socks off a whole bunch of friends now. A group we've named SOFAs - Softhearted Old Fools Association - can attend to that. Add a wonderful parrot with a mobility disability, a senior citizen Golden Retriever, Andy, who oversees all the young'ns, a rescued Coon Hound, DeeDee, who has become the caretaker of baby coons, the favorite playmate of Dora, the first baby coon, named Swoozie, a cat who still maintains she's above all this and a tortoise who tends to ignore everything but lunch round out the crew. With hundreds of shots of adorable Dora, Patty and Eddie, the rescued coons, Mary Anne has the fodder for more than just the children's book she's contemplating. But none of this would be possible were it not for the fact that Mary Anne is a class A, top notch photographer! Her images are crisp, clear and sure to bring smiles of delight to the hardest hearted viewers. She's my friend and I've known her for quite a few years now, but what makes her testimonial material is her talent and her subject matter. For anyone new to Mary Anne's Marshside Menagerie, begin with image number one on Dora's book number one. I defy you not to become a fan too!"
