Finding my way.. that is the tone is my work these days. I have always been interested in new things. In my earliest attempts involved film and rural abandonments in black and white.. (need to post some of those.) The introduction of light painting and Urban exploration (which I always did, it just had no name) and a camera.. excellent.
I certainly enjoy adding a little more drama to the work, the colors seem to invoke mood, yet the lack of people it seems to not push enough, so, I began putting myself out there. :)
I am working on a blend of the two as well as a multi-exposure, single exposure in a way in which I can glean as much from each method to satisfy my needs. So far, not working like I hope, but, I am learning more about my equipment each day and to me, that is key.
Its a mood thing. One day, week or month, you may see one type of photo and that may change. I am not going to attempt to interpret it, it is far to volatile. I don't know what "describe yourself means.. I am not looking for a date...
So, I guess I will describe for you what photography is to me; it is the portrayal of what I see when I look at a particular object.
My view, may not be the same as your view.. that is the distinction.
I am appreciative of the purists out there, and while there is absolutely nothing like taking a photo and never run it through the likes of photoshop.. I am not a complete purist. I make no bones about the use of software.
I find that knowing your equipment is very important, it is a clear distinction, I am learning this as I become more and more granular with the settings and peculiarities of certain elements of my camera.
I do also use film cameras, I think eventually I will begin to post the gobs of photos I took in my earlier youth, most were developed on my own being lucky enough to have a school that supported the arts.
I most recently been inspired by some medium format work, not really being knowledgeable in this area, I have begun to use an Mamiya RB67, we'll see how it all pans out. I love the fact that it is 100% mechanical.

Chocolate-Milk says:
"My first meeting with Peter was in a abandoned warehouse in complete darkness...He had wanted to learn the technique of light painting. My first lesson included the phrase "I go over here and do this and then over here to do this"....thankfully, he caught on without many words being uttered and the rest is history. A great friend and partner in crime. He has grown immensely over the months we have spent lighting up various abandoned places throughout Wisconsin."

"Peter is one amazing photographer and artist that I've always admired ever since he became my flickr friend. Every time I'm on flickr I find myself going to his photostream to get inspired by his works, as a matter of fact, the pictures of the many parks in Milwaukee that he took really inspired me to do the same. Thanks.

OneEyedJax says:
"Peter is one of the most unique photographers on flickr. He has an incredible knack for bringing some of the darkest parts of the city to light, with a keen eye for interesting urban scenes followed by amazing, tasteful, post shot processing. His work is truly one-of-a-kind.
He has an avid passion for uncovering Milwaukee’s old railroad lines, transforming present day photos into vintage images of a bygone era. His photos are beautifully journalistic and could easily be used to create an exceptional documentary of Milwaukee’s historic railroads.
Add to all of this, the fact that he is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet on flickr. He is genuine and kind and always encouraging.
Peter, thank you for sharing your passion with all of us – your photos are wonderful works of art. Thank you most of all for your friendship ~
