my "style" is all over the place. you will not find a comfortable representation of what i do within a few shots. veering wildly down this road, improvising as i go, i take as much in and give as much back as i am able.

a ship lost at sea, i am searching for a harbor.
photography is all that anchors me these recent years.

(i think i'm going to try being bitter for awhile. why not? everyone else does it ... )

    kerouac's ghost says:

"I hesitated to write this testimonial (giggie, please correct any typos). giggie recently wrote a testimonial for me (my first!) and i don't want it to appear this is a reciprocal gesture. it is not (my comments on giggie's stream - which sounds dirty - should testify to that).

the truth is i forgot about testimonials until giggie wrote one for me.

giggie's work, for me, is about reality. it's a mix. some damn hard times mixed with some damn fine times. i don't understand people - unless they have some type of disorder - who fixate on either. it seems to me truth is the most important thing if one is undertaking an artistic endeavor (i know that sounds unbelievably pretentious and/or naive) and that is what giggie delivers - truth through her eyes.

her observational skills are top notch and her eye will catch things most of us would walk right past. many times, the most imortant things. whether she is revealing her beautiful self or the world she sees around her, her work is never awash in sentiment or in cynicism. it has elements of both sometimes. just as life requires elements of both. there is real wisdom in giggie's work.

giggie is a fighter and fighters make the most compelling art. they don't lay down and they don't fight battles that are pointless. giggie is fighting the good fight and everyone is made better by the observing.

so, giggie, here's to you darlin'. i am three sheets to the wind and, though i have proof read this three times, i can not testify to the verbal acumen to be found in the writing, but it's all from the heart. you, my long distance friend, are putting something beautiful into the world and THAT is worth more than just about anything else i know."

    Flооd says:

"Oh, giggie. She's sensual and strong, accepting and defiant, brave and vulnerable. She's real, in the way some people are so real it's hard to take it all in at once, but the enticement is too much to resist. She captures the human condition and the animals who live within it for good or ill. She'll make you laugh or ponder and sometimes her fragrance will hit you when you least expect it."

    SolarScot. says:

"i say this honestly about Giggie,i never know what i will find when i look at her stream.she has made me laugh, cry, get angry, doubt my beliefs, strengthen my love for life and the world around us, all through her photographs and words.that is a powerful and magical gift to have.she is unique in my eyes,a beautiful, sensitive caring woman that has always been a good friend when i and others needed one.Everything you see on her stream is shown from the heart .there is a passion here you will seldom if ever see anywhere else.i love everything about her and i know that though she has some pretty hard times she will always delight and amaze with images to tantalize and question, evoke and empower.Enjoy the work of a truly talented woman with a heart of Gold."

"There is a great degree of sensuality, I find, and intimacy in her work. From a simple approach she achieves very intriguing pictures."

    Blindspot1330 says:

"Okay. Here are a few other things you should know about giggie larue.

Everything she you might ever learn about her seems to be right out there for you see. She trusts her viewers— and herself — that much.

So what is that you'll be looking at?

Her humor. Her friendship. Her style. Her wry look at life. And best of all, her honesty.

Yeah, there's nothing fake about what she posts.

I can't say that about most people. Especially myself.

    She's no self-promoter. That's why I'm writing this testimonial.

Take a look at her self-portraits and you'll discover a woman who's brave enough to let her vulnerability infuse every pixel of every photo. That's her strength.

So take your time looking over her stuff. It's well worth it."
