A bit about me....
I graduated from The University of Rhode Island in 1995 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Studio Art . I moved to NYC immediately following graduation and during my first few years in NYC, I continued my education at the New York Academy of Art, Parsons School of Design and Teachers College, Columbia University. Using the skills learned in these programs, I began teaching K-12 Art and Woodworking in NYC. I began carrying a camera daily to document students' work. Soon, my subject matter expanded and photography became my artistic media of choice. Photographing the events of 9/11/01 up close launched my work into the broader public eye as those images were widely published and exhibited. Since then, the city has remained a daily subject of mine. In recent years, I have focused on portraiture - both in the studio and on location. I have not forgotten about teaching though – I’m very happy to be able to balance my photographic work with teaching art and woodworking at a fantastic school on the Upper East Side.

About my work...
I don't have some big, pretentious "Save the World" social agenda that I'm trying to explore with my work - I'll leave that to other photographers. I'm simply out to create compelling images - whether the subject is a person, place, object or event.
