Firstly, apologies to anyone whose images I comment on if your first language is not English. I (like most British) am pretty useless at languages, so I'm afraid I can only express myself well in English and I rely on online translators to help me understand other languages.

Secondly, I hope you enjoy at least some of my images. I think there is something in my photostream for (almost) everyone.

About me, and my photography:

Born January 1953, so you can work out for yourself how old I am, but I don't feel (or act) my age.

I've been a keen amateur photographer for a long time, with favourite subjects including landscapes, flowers/plants and buildings, both in wider view and for details. However, regardless of the subject, most of my favourite pictures are mainly about either light or shape, or both. Recently I have explored more abstract forms in images of pure light and shade, and discovered that light can sometimes conjure imaginary scenes in the shadows it casts.

I also frequently enjoy employing a more documentary style photographing people/events such as historic re-enactments and the British Touring Car Championship.

Given the variety of my photography, maybe I should've taken a screen name of 21st Century Schizoid Man (if you don't know where that comes from, check out the music of King Crimson). Or Camera Chameleon? Hmmm... no - very bad pun!

Anyway - above all, no matter what the subject, my photographs are very much about capturing the way I personally see the world, which can vary from very traditional to very abstract and sometimes downright strange.

As for equipment... whatever is at hand. For total control I use a Samsung GX20 or Pentax K10D, with a wide selection of both autofocus and old manual focus lenses, but some of my favourite shots are grabbed on an auto-only Pentax Optio W20 that I always carry when I don't have another camera with me. Inbetween those two extremes I also use a Canon Powershot A640 and a Fuji Finepix S8000.
