I am an ex-musician, musicologist, now working as a freelance software developer.
I live with my wife and two cats in the Cumbrian hills east of the English Lake District. It is usually very wet and often cold, which is why I love going to California and Florida.
I have a private pilot's licence though I don't get to fly as much as I'd like at present. I have a long term aim to fly the 50 US states in 50 days (though there are distance issues with Hawaii !).
My main passion is listening to music. It often interferes with the necessities of life (or vice versa).
