My photographic journey began a decade ago when I inherited my father's old Pentax SLR camera. That was the start of a fun and exciting new passion that changed the way I viewed my world. In the years since, I have studied several genres and styles of photography including portraiture, nature, abstract, and various forms of still life. During this course, I have also experimented with different processes and new technologies in order to further my understanding of and appreciation for as many photographic techniques as I can. As my photographic journey continues, I eagerly seek the next fun and exciting idea that I can present to the world.

As a teenager, long before I took a serious interest in photography, I constantly found myself drawn to popular culture images. I spent hours browsing coffee table books by famous photographers in the bookstores. Today, I'm still inspired by popular culture artwork. One day, I hope to add something of my own to this ever growing pool - whether it be an interesting portrait, a floral still life, a cool landscape, or something I haven't thought of yet.

I primarily use Flickr to share images with friends and family as well as showcase some of my professional work. I try to keep all of my work sorted into relevant sets. Casual snapshots should be easy to tell from my serious photographs.

These days, I shoot with a Nikon D300 using a 50mm F1.4 Nikkor prime lens that I absolutely adore. I also keep a standard 18-50mm Nikkor, a 55-200mm Nikkor, and a Tamron 70-300mm tele macro lens in my bag.

I always shoot everything in raw mode and I process using Lightroom and Photoshop CS3 on a Macintosh.

In 2008, I added a Canon A720IS point & shoot camera to my arsenal. I mostly use that camera for casual snapshots.

"Louis has an amazing eye for detail. He also has a super-sharp memory. I've enjoyed observing Louis's evolution as a photographer and what he has created from his years of shooting and LCC classes.

I am happy for him because he has this hobby. I also think it's cool that he has access to so much more experiences and people, of which an camera allows!"
