I am the kind of engineer who will spend three hours making a two-hour job take one hour. I consider myself a hipster disguised as an aging, balding computer geek. I have worked on tools for creative professionals since 1992, and I teach Photoshop workshops for mixed media artists mostly in the San Francisco Bay Area. I'm undergoing a divorce and starting a new life with a lovely woman named Elisa. I have an adult daughter and a son born in 2002.

I like gadgets and computers. (Well, I actually hate computers but I like what you can do with them.)

I am a pretty decent mixed-media artist and digital collage artist when I take the time; there's some evidence of this in my photostream. I am an intermediate photographer (Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200mm VR, Nikkor 50mm prime, Nikkor 60mm macro, Lensbaby Muse).

I support an animal rescue called A Place to Bark. The proprietress is one of those rare people who do nothing except make the world a better place for the animals and the people who adopt them.
