  "You know, sometimes you make someone your contact because you like their photos and you want to make sure to keep up with their stream. But then, you get yourself a lot of contacts and it can be hard to keep up. And sometimes you go to visit someone's stream and they have won a ton of "awards" and they have hundreds of comments already, and you are happy for them, but there isn't much intimacy there.
  
  Then there are the people who could win tons of awards, only they aren't as interested in that. What they want is dialogue, friendship, connection, and that's what they both request and demand, set the bar and limits for. And when you are willing, which I am, being the person who corners people at a party and stays with the same conversation all night, when you really want it, it's the best thing ever.
  
  Gabi, she's one of those. I have cornered her at the international cyber photo party that is Flickr, and we are often off in the corner, guffawing, crying and commenting on each other's wins and losses, discoveries and derisions. So if you want some of the real stuff - both photographically and in terms of support, this is where you should be coming. This is where THAT party is AT."

  Four simple letters. Push them together and they mean so much more to me.
  
  This lady is a crack photographer, her compositions always eliciting a 'wow' from me, whether it be a spur of the moment self portrait, or some feature of our world captured through her lens. I find myself returning to photos of hers I've marked as a favorite over and over again. Each time seeing something new, while remembering why I chose it as a fave in the first place.
  
  But beyond the photography? Gabi has a warmth that surrounds her every word. Without ever having the opportunity to meet her, I've grown to consider her a close personal friend, and someone who truly does improve my life by her being a part of it."

  "Do you ever wonder how people can meet and fall in love over the Internet? Grown people who should know better? I don't. Because Gabi's one of those people you meet and think: she could be my best friend.
  
  Cybergabi and I met over her interesting photographs—shopping carts and trunks of Brussels sprouts and beer. They were interesting enough, but the conversations made me come back.
  
  Now, though, I come here and am wowed by the photos—the candids she taught herself to take (amazing how quickly they improved) and the different ways she started to see once the bar kept getting raised by the Dave & Dave group.
