My background is in fine art. The serious use of photography is relatively new to me. In college, I studied art with an emphasis on sculpture and painting. I took a couple of Photography classes and had my own darkroom. I did not pursue photography seriously at that time. It was Fine Art in the visual arts and this encompasses a lot.

I am very impressed by much of the work i see here on flickr.

I almost exclusively use the camera manually.
My camera is an EOS 20D.

On my last job, I wore many hats. I worked with graphic design, technical illustration, product development, some engineering, web design and programming. I also did photography as needed.

I was not very serious about photography until about 4 years ago when i embarked on a venture with a partner in the Philippines. The venture began 7 years earlier when we meet. I was seriously looking at creating a franchise. I was looking for supplies of large tapioca pearls, or sagu pearls. Unfortunately, the venture did not bear fruit because the people I was involved with were defrauding me, it was immigration fraud, financial fraud , and included a computer intrusion that destroyed several years of my work. It has been very costly and is well documented. I am trying to get the it handled but such frauds are not taken too seriously if you don't have a lot of money to spend on lawyers... However, I came to love the Philippines despite the young lady who caused this damage. After disappearing, I searched and located her in the USA, married to another person. She let me pass on a job to forward her immigration to the USA and then disappeared. I passed on the job to do the business and the marriage.... there is a lot of documentation, I'm trying to get this seen by the right people.

Well, part of the Venture involved Photography. It also involved artistic collaboration and some documentation and publications. It was involved with internet technologies, and many things There was a lot of synergy. The last year has been a lot of turmoil and a lot was lost. Over the past year or two, i have picked up the camera again. This camera was bought specifically for the venture.

I am well versed in PS and other graphics software. At one time i did a whole study on the game design/programming industry and had wanted to get involved with 3D graphics. I never found the time or money to fully realize it. My fascination can be traced back to Special FX in the movie industry. I have used a few 3D programs to create illustrations. I was also fascinated in it's use for sculpture.

Many of the photos i have up on Flickr are old photos, photos to share with with friends and some documentation. Initially I intended to use this Flickr and some other sites to document the venture I was developing . A repository for use later in marketing. Plans have changed...

With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.”
