My goal is to capture subtle things I see in nature, but I find this can be the hardest thing to convey in a photograph. As art, a photograph should be like a painting, where new things are seen and felt over time.

I work in science education, and for fun I volunteer with a marine science group and marine mammal hospital. I come from a design and science background, and strive to incorporate that ethic in my photos.

I've really enjoyed seeing everyone's work here on Flickr--your work and comments have been an inspiration! :-) Staying connected with a large number of groups (or contacts) can be daunting, so I'm going to be selective so I'm able to maintain contact with my friends and their work. Otherwise, what's the point? :-)

Thanks for visiting, and I look forward to seeing your work!
