I've changed my buddy icon to a red bodhi leaf to signify my support of the monks and people of Burma (Myanmar). All the other petty problems of the day-to-day come into sharp relief when seeing the peaceful monks of Burma walking mindfully (often with their alms bowls turned upside down to prevent the ruling class from donating to them) in their crimson robes to demonstrate their belief in peace. May all beings find peace.

I'm a full-time hospice nurse and love to bake and decorate cupcakes! I'm currently in full-blown fantasy mode about having a cupcake bakery, but I'm not a trained pastry chef, nor do I have any experience in the industry. I think it's a safe bet that I'll simply enjoy the ideas of others, bake and decorate up a storm for friends, family, and co-workers and enjoy daydreaming of the bakery.

One of the things I love about cupcakes and decorating in general is that so many designs and tastes evoke wonderful memories of being a kid, decorating cakes with my mom or in art class with my sis. Maybe that's why folks love cupcakes so much - they bring back warm memories. I'm also seeing that everything old is new again. Some of the design ideas and styles that my mom did 40 years ago are re-surfacing as new - really nice to see that my mom's eye and artistry was timeless. Those designs I see really make me smile.
