I was eight years old and my bed was in front of my bedroom window. Even at that age I would lay there at night looking out at the stars, just wondering what was up there.

My friends all had comic character posters on their bedroom walls, my Mum and Dad were poor, many people were back then (1972,73) and we could not afford comics.

I remember coming home from school one day to find that my Dad had put a large poster (just a little less than the width of my bed) on the wall at the end of my bed.
The poster was a view looking looking down a rocky slope and across a lake with Alpine forests and mountains in the background.
Even at that age I had an appreciation of this kind of view which has led me to purchase my camera's over the years.
I now have a Pentax K10D and a selection of Lenses and already I am on the long road to saving for a pro level camera in a couple of years.

I recently bought my Wife a Nikon D40 to get her started off and this has helped us no end to get up and get out together, It's great to share an interest.

I don't consider myself a good photographer or even an average one, but I'd like to think that every now and then I do produce something reasonable, and that my sets will help show what certain areas of the country look like.
