not a "street artist" - too old to run!!
but will happily accept the mantle of "underground artist"..as i have avoided the mainstream gallery system most of my life..but that too is changing now. (:

entity, not as a dead chapter in the timeline of (western) art history.i love the way media juxtapose images of vaccuous celebrities,genocidal despots,soulless businessman+politicians- with corporate branding and the detritus of the suburban dream such as serial killers, sex scandals and lottery winners next to ads for silicone breast implants, penis enhancements,toilet paper and breakfast cereals...its all grist for the pop mill, and like any good tabloid, there can never be enough cheese for thought!?"
bret appreciates francis bacon,david salle,mimmo rotella,basquiat,connor harrington,and the usual pop and street art suspects..and enjoys a personal collection (a small mountain?) of low art,pulp journals,trashy tabloids,vintage magazines+comics,and all things retro..
