*CA*'s photostream
|
I was a research scientist for over 30 years, studying sleep and circadian rhythms. I moved to a new career in biotech/pharma as a science liaison about 3 years ago. I think photography promotes development of the most fundamental skill in Science (and Life) - observation. It also enables me to visit that magical space where the intensity of focus puts me squarely in the present moment and utterly involved with the object of that focus. That said, I mostly take photos because I'm an addict.
I'm not a purist and alter my photos every chance I get. I figure the first alteration to the scene comes when I pull out my camera. The second one comes when I choose the settings. It's all down- or up-hill from there.

I really don't like all the sparkly, twinkling, blaring things some people put in their comments and in invites to groups. I delete all such comments without notice.

therese flanagan says:
"Christine has a real eye for revealing subtle lighting that establishes a mood and makes a photo worth viewing. She also has a relationship to each subject she approaches...hard to articulate, but it includes wonder -- that's something you can't fake. Her photos draw me in and keep me looking; is there any better compliment one can give a photographer?"

Hortonfogg says:
"She makes it look so easy, effortlessly coming up with classic photographs that reveal the stunning beauty and order all around us. A magic joyful eye! An inspiration! Perhaps because she is a scientifically
trained observer, acutely sensitive to detail and purpose and yet so very artistic and full of real heart for all that is-that I admire her work so much. Her comments are incisive and generous and it's been a real pleasure to view and learn from *CA* !!!"30th October, 2007

"What a wonderful person to meet in real life! I am just now discovering her beautiful images and look forward to exploring her rich photostream. I also want to mention that she took a photograph of me this past weekend and in all honesty, it is the best photograph ever taken of me! Now, that shows great talent. :o)"
