I took up photography 40 years or so ago in Singapore and have been using digital equipment for about 7 years. I retired when I was 59 and I now have the time to take many more photographs. I joined Flickr in June 2007 and have quickly become addicted to it.
As my profile name suggests I use Nikon equipment in the main. For digital I use a Nikon D700, D300s and a recently bought Fuji X100 . In the past I took family photographs, portraits and weddings using film, but since starting with digital, I have broadened my subject matter to include macros, flowers, landscapes and general country scenes. I especially like taking early morning sunrise, late sunset shots and experimenting with light. My most recent interest is street photography. I started at long range using a 70-300 zoom, but I am now happy to get up close with 35mm and 50mm lenses.
All of my working life was spent as an aircraft engineer and as such I do not consider myself to be artistic, but I am trying to develop an artistic eye with help from other flickr members. The photographic talent in here never ceases to amaze me.

I was born and bred in England and lived in a small village near Oxford for my first 4 flickr years. I have recently moved to Cardiff.

After quite a few years, I have started using film again and will be posting scanned 35mm and 120 roll film pictures. I now have as many film cameras as digital.


I welcome critique on my pictures and try to do the same sometimes when commenting on other peoples pictures. If you do not agree with my comments, remember it is only the opinion of someone trying to be helpful.
