Today, 07/21/2010, I am starting a new Flickr Project. I leave this evening for my home in South Dakota. My father has taken ill and I am heading home to help my mother and the family out for a while.

I am taking the bus home. I have never traveled by bus and have been hearing all kinds of wild stories as to way I should not travel this way. I see this as a chance to push out of my comfort zone and attempt something with my photography.

"100 Strangers In 48 Hours"

I am going to attempt to do a 100 Strangers project in just 48 hours. Use this will all the time I will have on my hands as I travel across the country. If the batteries hold out, and I dont run out of card space, I hope to complete the photographing of this project by the time I reach the bus station in Rapid City SD. That give me 1,859 miles, 1 day, 21 hours, and 50 minutes to do this project. I figure that from the hour I have to be there early to load the bus, and delays, It will be a full two days of shooting. (I hope six batteries are enough for the battery eating monster of the Nikon D200!)

I will download, process and post the photos in the following weeks depending on how much time I have on my hands. I would like to have one question to ask all those I come in contact with, but at this point I dont know what that would be.

I believe that everyone has something to teach to me, no matter what their level in photography is. The fresh excitement of a photographer with their first point and shoot or the season pro working years on the photo assignments I dream of doing. There is always something to learn.
