Please don't invite me to mandatory comment groups I'm not a member of . I am already a member of a lot of groups, so I'm choosing my groups carefully and on my terms only.

I've tried commenting groups to please some of my contacts, but it takes too much time.

If an admin invites me to a commenting group I will click OK add it, and I will NOT comment, even with a SWEEPER ACTIVE MESSAGE.
Most of the time I don't even read the posting terms, because I'm too busy. I just click the ADD IT button.




EXPLORE CRAP and the UNINTERESTINGNESS of the MAGIC DONKEY
Some people, in fact a lot of people seem to think being on explore is a seal of quality. Well, it's not. The Explore page is based on a random algorithm, and like all algorithms this can be manipulated. Mutual faving and commenting being the most obvious one, and I'm OK with that. If you want your pictures viewed by a lot of people, Explore is a great advertising place. After all, we don't post our pictures on Flickr to be ignored. I find the bigger exposure through Explore the only interesting feature about the whole damned thing. But for crying out loud, don't brag about your explore position, like you're one of the 500 best photographers on Flickr among thousands and thousands of uploading photographers, and this EVERY SINGLE DAY. That"s just not possible.

USE OF MY PICTURES
The latest hype seems to be getting accepted by Getty Images. I tried it too, not really knowing what it was all about. After first posting a few pictures I forgot all about it. Suddenly after a year or so I got invited to the club. When I did not respond for lack of time to finally read all the fine print, I got invited again, so I did read all the terms of use and fine print, and I must say right now I cannot be bothered. It's too much hassle, and to be honest I'm not a professional photographer, nor do I have the photographic equipment to make high quality images.
So all my pictures can be used on websites, as long as they're properly credited and link back to my original photo. There's no need to ask for my permission..
I think that's the least you can do for the free use of my pictures.
As I recently discovered some people are without shame, and just steal other people's pictures passing them off as their own, I disallowed downloading of the original files.



Other photo websites
Right now, I'm very busy uploading my pictures to other websites.
I've had a Webshots page since the year 2000, but after joining Flickr I had not uploaded anything to that page.
In the meantime I joined Picasa and Panoramio, and recently Google+.
So right now I'm uploading my travel pics to those websites also. It keeps me busy, busy busy ....
The photo's on my other pages are the same as here, but in smaller size.
