About the Library

The award-winning Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County, founded in 1853, provides essential quality-of-life community service as well as outstanding customer service throughout Hamilton County. The Library consists of the Main Library downtown and 40 branches that provide over 9.5 million items and more than 660 computers for public use. Our website includes free online reference and information databases in addition to access about library services, locations, and events that customers access over 87 million times annually. The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County Library offers over 14,500 free programs each year for children, teens, and adults, and is ranked by Hennan among the 10 top public libraries serving over 500,000 in population.
