My name is Fadi J. and I am a mechanical engineer graduated from University of Toronto in 2011. I was born and raised in Iraq until the age of 16 but I have been living in Canada for the last 12 years. I love Toronto and it is not only my favourite city in the world but it is the only place where I feel at home.

I am Chaldean, but I don’t speak Chaldean Neo-Aramaic as my family was raised in the city and my parents don’t speak the language either. My family is originally Roman Catholic. However, I have long left the Catholic church as I do not agree with their teachings. I consider myself a Christian and that it is. My favourite preachers are Dr. Charles Stanley, Paul Washer and John Piper.

I often include writing with my photos, If you like the photos but don’t want to read the writings then feel free to comment on the photos only. I understand that flickr is a photography website and not a blogging one :)

Prior to 2010 my photos were taken with the Canon PowerShot S3IS--my first camera which I purchased in 2006. But now I’ve made the big jump not only to a DSLR camera but to my dream camera: the Nikon D700. I use four lenses:
Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G
Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 VR (plus TC-17E II),
Nikkor 16-35mm f/4G VR,
Helios 44-2 58mm f/2.

I am taking less photos recently (and I am being less active on flickr too) for many reasons but mainly because I've stopped taking pictures for the sake of taking pictures: I am trying to approach photography as a meaningful art rather than just a common hobby. Therefore I am deleting many of my past photographs—anything that doesn't hold a value to me now—and being more careful in selecting my new photographs.

For people who add me as contact, I probably won’t add you as a contact if you:

-Have hundreds of contacts. The point of flickr is to learn and appreciate other people’s photography and not to collect as many contacts then forget about them.

-Don’t have any pictures on your photo stream. Even if you are a Christian and add me as a contact because you enjoy my photography, but if you don’t have photographs then how can I enjoy your photography?

-All you have is random photos of this and that, even if they are of your family. This is a photography website not a social network website like facebook, so your pictures should have some photographic value for me to add you.

-You upload photos that are not yours. Even if the photos you upload are of famous photographers that have been dead for a long time and most people know they are not yours. You should not steal other people’s work.

-If you have been inactive for a very long time, and now you add me as a contact!

-If you have sensual and immodest photos. Before I add you I will check your favourites, your contacts, and the groups you have joined.

    "I was introduced to 001FJ when I first came to use flickr...he and another special flickr member (J316) were among the very first to reach out in this flickrland to greet me in kindness and express joy towards my ability in photography...but most of all they reached out to me in Christ! To believe in Christ is to believe that we have a Maker and that He has made a plan for each of us that He calls to come to Him and receive instruction (though sometimes it is difficult to absorb all that instruction right away...He continues to beckon us to do so)...because He is interested in each of us making it for 'eternal life' instead of just enjoying the time in our outward flesh.
    So when 001ForJesus (that's what I call it) let me know how much he is learning also to follow Christ's Spirit ...it just made the photo taking and sharing just oh so much more fun!

    I find that 0001FJ (see it even looks better as For Jesus)....composes some very finely detailed and interesting photographs....and especially when he makes them into BiblePhotos ...so pls take the time and view his biblephoto collection........
