I grew up in Westchester County, NY, about fifty miles north of Manhattan.
I went to college in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
I got my Ph.D. on the West Coast, in California.
I study the neurophysiology of the retina.
My interests outside of work include competitive cycling, photography and music. The highlights of my time here include racing with the Wines of Washington cycling team, singing in the Seattle Opera's 2005 production of Des Ring Der Nibelungen, and rediscovering photography.
I am compelled by my friends, my subjects. I am fascinated by how we appear in photographs, and the emotions and thoughts that photographs evoke.
