In my day job, I run a TV station's Web site. Weekends and nights, Murdock's Photography.

I got into photography to meet women. Failed miserably. Then I went into newspaper photojournalism...right as newspapers started closing all over. Finally, TV photojournalism came along, and I did that for 10 years or so before realizing that I really didn't enjoy getting called out at 3 a.m. to cover house fires.

For many of those years, I didn't take pictures because I was carrying a 15-pound video camera all day.

Now I'm finding I need to get back to taking pictures every day, something I used to do easily.

Among the areas I'm trying to work on: Using multiple flashes, ambient light/flash ratios and post-production (Lightroom, Photoshop)

I can also cook.
