I have been shooting as long as I can remember. By age three I was working in the family's black and white darkroom in the basement processing prints. For my fifth birthday, my parents passed down their Yashica Electro 35 rangefinder for my very own camera. By the time I was twelve I had purchased his own Maxxum 7000 SLR with a 35-70mm zoom (I did add and replace lenses during the 8 years I owned the camera). In college I migrated to the Nikon FE2 and prime (single focal length) lenses. I've been through many digital cameras (SONY Mavicas, Nikon CoolPixes, Fuji FinePix S1, Nikon D100, Nikon D2X, Nikon D200, Nikon 300, Nikon D300s, Nikon D700), but today I am shooting the Nikon D300s and D700 mostly with a host of Nikon D and G lenses, and a Zeiss Distagon 25mm. From time-to-time you might also happen upon some photos take with my Nikon CoolPix 7900 that I'll take with me when I don't have the room for the DSLRs, or the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1 for the all-weather situations. Meanwhile, Drie is now using my old D300 with her 18-200mm VR (which came from her D200 kit).

I really enjoy shooting for myself these days. Anything that captures my eye (details are especially interesting) is a great subject, but I especially enjoy railroad, industrial/architectural decay, animals, night photography (I need to spend more time shooting at night this year). I used to enjoy working in the studio though and would love to get back to the still lifes and portraits.
