I love the great outdoors and taking pictures of whatever catches my eye! I spent one dollar on an old offbrand 35mm camera at a yard sale 37 years ago and haven't stopped taking pictures since. I graduated from that to a Pentax K1000 that I purchased new in 1983, and it is still going strong for me after all these years. A few years ago I aquired a used Sony Mavica digital camera that uses 3 1/2" floppy discs for storage and transfer, and the wonders of digital photography still amazes me. No more waiting weeks to see if a picture came out or not. Doncha love instant gratification? My newest "toy" is a Kodak EasyShare CX6230 and I am having a great time with it.

I am an avid gardener spring right on through to fall, and during the winter months when I am stuck indoors I catch up on my reading, and also design jewelry and buy and sell stuff on ebay.

I volunteer at the local nature center, puttering in the flower beds, and also help to raise and tag monarch butterflies for their annual monarch butterfly event.

I have been raising and observing monarchs for as long as I can remember, from the time I was a young girl; and have been tagging them on and off for about 16 years . That is where the honorary title of "monarchmama" comes from ! : )
