[Update: Many of my recent photos, such as Christmas in Boston, are included in Discover Metro Boston. Most of my other photos are included in my personal (non-commercial sites). I will share them with you, at some point, when I get a chance to work more on the entry page.

You might have noticed that I have not uploaded any photos for awhile now. There are reasons for this that I cannot discuss here. I will revert to a regular account, after Lito's kind Christmas gift will expire sometime in November, so that it does not make sense for me to uploading files.

It is not because I do not have the money nor is it because I am expecting someone to gift me another PRO account. If you are tempted to gift me with an account -- there are other websites that I am developing now that could use your help, if you want to help.

I shall remain a member of Flickr, because many Filipinos are here who can help with the projects I have been developing.]

An invitation


Please share your photos or help look for good photos to be included in an education and information website. The cliche, a picture is worth a thousand words is true, but pictures and words and other modes that touch the senses are even more powerful.

The website is a celebration of all that is "good, noble, beautiful and true" -- essentially that will cover all fields of human endeavor. If you wish to participate, the idea is to start with those that you have expertise in or interests you.

The website is more or less similar to wikipedia in its scope and strategy of developing content -- it will be collaborative. However, unlike wikipedia, the planned collaborative website will require source attribution, i.e., authorship rather than anonymity sought in wikipedia. Authorship is critical in information-education website so that readers would be able to judge the source of information or not.

Like wikipedia, and related "open-source" movements, do not dream of any financial windfall coming from your efforts if you contribute or participate.

If you ever read "Letters to a Young Poet" -- based from the letters written by Rainer Maria Rilke (to an aspiring poet) and understood what Rilke was trying to convey there, then you are the kind of contributor I wish to collaborate with.

You do something or participate in a cause because it is something that you wish to do.

The collaborative website does not aim to compete with the goals of flickr nor any commercial portal websites around.

Treasures of the Internet
This site has more than 60,000 files with hundreds of major subsites. They are static html files. The focus at the moment is to make this site more dynamic and interactive -- using mainly open source softwares -- to foster collaborative development.

Many new initiatives are planned some I hope will be ready by 2008, if there are enough people who would volunteer to help.

Likas - Philippines
(I am a Filipino by birth, I live in the US now.) There has been many Filipinos who have begun sharing their photos for the galleries, it is now under revision to expand the capabilities of the photogalleries for future expansion.

Metro Boston
This site is under development, I hope it is ready sometime in 2008. If you are from (or have lived in ) Metro Boston, or MA, I would like to invite ou to join in creating this site.
