Doha Sam says:
"Richard is a teacher and it shows. I'm sure he is a good teacher because he is always nurturing people along. I first became aware of him as I saw him helping Fouad (aka zamn), a student at my college and a friend. Everywhere I see Richard posting he is always trying to push and help and encourage those around him.
As a photographer, Richard's approach is very honest. Not for him the overblown processing and HDR fads. Richard prefers to capture what he sees with honesty and a sort of integrity.
Richard's concern for others probably comes out most clearly in his street portraiture. Richard frequently produces stunning portraits of working men in the city of Doha. Through Richard's lens, these men regain and display the dignity that so clearly nestles in their hearts. It is a testament to Richard that he sees the beauty and dignity in these people who are so ignored and looked down upon by 99% of Doha's inhabitants.
I could not complete a testimonial about Richard without mentioning his sense of composition. Richard is very strong at placing subjects in the frame. He will often come to a photo and suggest a crop which is obvious only in retrospect.
I've once said to Richard that I consider him my best friend that I have never met.
God bless you, Richard. And all who come before your lens."9th October, 2009

Stew Stryker says:
"unpolarized said it well, Richard is very helpful with his comments and has a very good photographic eye. At time I see an almost mathematical precision in his work, which really resonate with me, as we're both technical people. But I know that his photos appeal to non-techies as well.
I'd add that Richard provides support and helpful insights on more than just photography. I'm pleased to call him a friend."13th August, 2007

unpolarized says:
"Richard is simply one of the best people I have had the luck to meet here. I count myself lucky to have attracted his interest, in both my work, and in discussing varous aspects of art, and photography.
He gives the most well thought out, inciteful, and detailed critiques I have ever seen anywhere, let alone been lucky enough to receive. He offers not only superb technical comments, but always offers them with his feelings/impressions received from viewing a piece, which is something we all desperately crave, and rarely get. He is willing to discuss the reasons for his comments, and never takes offense when a contrary opinion is offered on some point.
He is the most rare, and wonderful of people, a well educated, and supportive critic. I wish there were more like him."11th March, 2007
