sam_ says:
"The 1962 film "The Birdman of Alcatraz" tells the story of a incarcerated man and his love for birds. But while it turned out the story Hollywood portrayed was fiction, David LaPuma's knowledge of birds isn't. Frankly, anyone who would call himself the "woodcreeper" must know something of birds, but maybe he is just a bit dotty like the Alcatraz birdman, I don't know. Whatever the case David's photographs most often fall in line with his interest in birds and the people he takes along birding. So, if you like birds, like people who like birds, or are just bored, have a look around and see what David's photostream has to offer."

"woodcreeper formed a group inspired by a picture that I took of humanity's most rude gesture. And for that i'll be eternally grateful."

"Alright, turnabout is fair play. David's photography blows my mind. Inspiring and crazy quality stuff. And, not for want of trying, i still can't do that owl-call. I can hardly believe that this levelheaded photographer/birder is the same guy i knew in school.
Glad we're back in touch."18th December, 2004
